Intensive In-Home:

Providing clinical support to reduce the risk of

out-of-home placement

Intensive In-Home Services (IIH) are flexible, clinical support services for children and youth with behavioral and emotional challenges, under the age of 21, who are at risk of removal from their home or who are being transitioned back into their home from an out-of-home placement. Our qualified Mental Health Professionals provide services such as individual and family therapy, coping skills, stress reduction, problem solving and allied therapies like art, play, drama and music.

Individuals must demonstrate a clinical necessity arising from a severe condition due to mental, behahavioral or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities.

Individuals must meet atleast two of the following criteria on a continuing or intermittent basis:
  1. Have difficulty in establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships to such a degress that they are at risk of hospitlization or out-of-home placement because of conflicts with family or community.
     

  2. Exhibit such inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by the mental health, social services or judicial system are necessary.
     

  3. Exhibit difficulty in cognitive ability such that they are unable to recognize personal danger or recognize personal danger or recognize significantly inappropriate social behavior.
